Box Score FLORENCE, South Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's basketball team defeated the Patriots of Francis Marion University 75-70 on Thursday. This win takes the Trojans to 17-4 overall and 15-4 in Conference. This was the final game in the regular season.
INSIDE THE SCORE
Francis Marion took the first lead of the contest with an early 2-0 lead with 8:40 remaining in the first quarter. UMO tied the contest at two with 8:22 remaining. The two teams were back and fourth when UMO tied the contest at 10. The end of the first quarter saw a tied contest at 14.
The second quarter saw a Trojan layup and a UMO lead 16-14. UMO found their momentum to gain a four-point lead over the Patriots 18-14. The Patriots answered with dominating offense to take the lead 19-18. UMO extended their lead to five 30-25 with 3:00 remaining in the first half. UMO ended the first half with a 36-31 lead over Francis Marion.
The third quarter started in favor of the Patriots as they cut the Trojan lead to three 36-33. Francis Marion found their momentum to and cut the Trojan lead to one 38-37. The Patriots stopped the Trojans to earn the lead 40-38. FMU did not stop there as they took a four-point lead 44-40. The end of the third quarter was in favor of the Patriots 51-44.
The Trojans opened up the fourth quarter with long two-pointer from Ayonna Cotten to cut the Patriot lead to five 51-46. The Trojans found their momentum in the start of the forth quarter as they came within two of Francis Marion 51-49. UMO regained the lead 55-51 with a three pointer from Azariah Fields. A Trojan free-throw with 0:01 remaining the game tied the at 62 to take the contest into over time.
UMO took the first lead in overtime 64-62. Mount Olive remained in control for the remaining 5:00 to take the five point victory 75-70.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Azariah Fields led the Trojans with 28 points, while Ivanda Hudjakova took home 18 points and five rebounds.
PATRIOTS LEADERS
The Patriots were led by Aniyah Oliver with 21 points.

The Trojan ladies with the win earned the No. 2 seed in the Conference Championship tournament. They have a bye until semifinals which will take place at Wofford University on March 5th, time TBD.
