Trojans Picked Ninth in Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team was picked to finish ninth in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office Wednesday morning.

The Trojans earned 97 points to place ninth overall. Young Harris topped the poll with 189 points and nine first-place votes after capturing its first Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship and winning the Southwest Division a season ago. Francis Marion followed in second with 174 points and three first-place votes, while Chowan, North Greenville and Converse rounded out the top five.

Mount Olive returns several key contributors heading into the 2026 season, including Kevin Jimenez, Haytham Abraham and Pierce Slater, who were each selected as players to watch.

Jimenez is a two-year letter winner for the Trojans and has totaled four goals, two assists and 10 points over his career. Abraham appeared in all 19 matches last season, making 11 starts for Mount Olive. Slater played in seven matches during his freshman campaign, making three starts while recording two goals and four points on seven shots.

The 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship is scheduled to begin with preliminary rounds on October 28 and 31. The semifinals and championship match will be held November 6 and 8 at Truist Soccer Complex at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina.

The preseason poll is voted on by the league's head coaches and they can not vote for their own school.
