Young Harris, Ga. – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team closed its 2025 season on the road Saturday with a 5–0 loss to Young Harris. Despite the result, the Trojans fought through a challenging schedule and showed growth throughout the year.
Mount Olive created solid chances early as Manny Duran and Joao Barboza Filho pressured the Young Harris defense, but the Mountain Lions struck first and carried a 2–0 lead into halftime. Goalkeeper Nick Cutlip kept the Trojans within reach, making seven strong saves against a relentless attack.
Barboza Filho led the offense with multiple shots on goal, creating opportunities on offense, but unable to convert. The Trojans maintained effort and composure throughout the match, finishing the season with determination and passion.
Mount Olive concludes the 2025 campaign with a 4-9-6 record, making it to the second round of the playoffs.
