Mount Olive Places Four on CSC Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Four members of the University of Mount Olive men's soccer program earned selection to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing their achievements both on the field and in the classroom.

The Academic All-District® program honors the nation's top student-athletes based on combined academic and athletic performance. All selections now advance for consideration on the national CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with first-, second-, and third-team honorees to be announced on December 16, 2025.
Mount Olive's Academic All-District® honorees include:

Reece Gery — Sophomore, Exercise Science (3.56 GPA)
Juan Gonzalez-Gancedo — Senior, Business Administration (3.71 GPA)
Jacques Sousa — Senior, Sport Management (3.74 GPA)
Colby Thompson — Senior, Exercise Science (3.73 GPA)

All four student-athletes met CSC's Academic All-District® standards, which require athletes to be at least sophomores academically and athletically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and compete in at least 90 percent of their team's matches or start at least two-thirds of them.
