Gia Gasdia Earns Defensive Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 13) - Giavanhna Gasdia is named women's lacrosse defensive player of the week for the second time this season after having a record week against three teams which included the #12 ranked Wingate University. 

Gasdia recorded 12 ground balls, seven turnovers, and nine draw controls, making her a crucial part of Mount Olive's defense last week. In a 9-8 victory over 12th-ranked Wingate, she recorded four ground balls and three turnovers; in a victory against Shorter, she recorded three ground balls, three turnovers, and five draw controls. After that, she help defeat the Lee Univerisity Flames with five ground balls, one turnover, and four draw controls.

Make sure to keep up with the second seeded Trojans as they go straight to semi-finals April 23 for the 2026 women's lacrosse Conference Carolinas championships.
