Box Score MOUNT OLIVE – After a week long break from competition The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team won against the Georgian Court Lions 13-9.
The Trojans and Lions played an even game leaving the score 3-2 in the first quarter with goals by
Ava Mullen,
Maddy Fratus, and
Alexa Fitzgerald. In the second quarter Mount Olive scored seven goals on the Georgian Court.
Fitzgerald scored four of the 13 goals in the game, grabbing a hat trick before halftime. She also had two assists on goals made by Fratus who scored two goals, and Mullen who also had two goals. The other five goals were scored by
Jazna Dumont (2),
Morghan Pollock,
Libby Berg, and
Jordan Bolam.
UMO lead in shots on goal, 16-9 as well as draw controls, 16-7.
Katie Broom claimed 10 of the 16 draw controls while
Giavahna Gasdia won three and had five ground balls.
Simone McCraw caused three turnovers by interception and grabbed four ground balls.
Ruby Burandt played the full 60 minutes for the Trojans with six saves winning this game.
