Men’s Golf Competes Against Elite Field at Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of Mount Olive men's golf team competed at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate Invitational, hosted by Lincoln Memorial University, against one of the strongest fields of the spring season.

The Trojans finished 16th out of 18 teams in a tournament featuring 11 nationally ranked programs, including five ranked inside the top 10: Wingate (6th), Georgia Southwestern (7th), St. Mary's (TX) (8th), Columbus State (9th), and Catawba (10th).

St. Mary's (TX) claimed the team title at one-over par, followed by North Georgia (+11). Georgia Southwestern and Catawba tied for third at +24, while Wingate rounded out the top five at +28.

Oscar Lönnqvist led Mount Olive, tying for 37th place at 12-over par after shooting even par in round one and two-over in round two. Jonas Bakker finished tied for 60th, followed by Shawn Benson (T86), Matthew Richardson (T89), and Lavrans Broen Holm (T91).

The Trojans return to action March 10–11 at the Oldfield Classic, hosted by USC Beaufort in Bluffton, S.C.
