GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's golf team was selected to finish fifth in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office Thursday morning.

The Trojans earned 85 points to place fifth overall. Belmont Abbey topped the poll with 113 points and eight first-place votes, followed by Erskine with 101 points and one first-place vote. Barton and Emmanuel tied for third with 97 points apiece, each receiving one first-place vote.

Players to watch for Mount Olive include Matthew Richardson, Lavrans Broen Holm, and Oscar Lonnqvist.

Lonnqvist was named the 2025 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year, earned All-Tournament Team honors, and claimed individual medalist honors at the Conference Carolinas Championships. Richardson and Holm add veteran leadership to a young Trojans squad after each collected multiple Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors during their careers.

Mount Olive opens its spring season at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate in St. Augustine, Fla., hosted by Lincoln Memorial University, from Feb. 9–10.
