MOUNT OLIVE – University of Mount Olive redshirt junior Christopher Brown was named Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Brown totaled two steals and one block to earn the weekly honor, highlighted by a game-saving defensive play in the Trojans' 87–85 road victory over Lees-McRae on Saturday.

With approximately 10 seconds remaining, Brown blocked Bobcats guard Ira Wilson's layup attempt at the rim. Teammate Jaevian Alston secured the rebound, sealing the win for Mount Olive.

The Trojans return home to Kornegay Arena to host Belmont Abbey tonight at 5 p.m., followed by a matchup against UNC Pembroke on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
