MOUNT OLIVE — Four members of the University of Mount Olive men's basketball team earned selection to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing their achievements both on the field and in the classroom.

The Academic All-District® program honors the nation's top student-athletes based on combined academic and athletic performance. All selections now advance for consideration on the national CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with first-, second-, and third-team honorees to be announced on April 15th.

Mount Olive's Academic All-District® honorees include:

• Shawn Wilson — Senior, Sports Communication (3.56 GPA) 
• Shane Peterson — Graduate, Aviation/MBA (3.74 GPA)
• Redford Dunton — Senior, MBA (3.75 GPA)
• Raul Perez — Sophomore, Accounting (3.8 GPA) 
• Christopher Brown — Senior, Graphic Design (3.73 GPA) 

All four student-athletes met CSC's Academic All-District® standards, which require athletes to be at least sophomores academically and athletically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and compete in at least 90 percent of their team's matches or start at least two-thirds of them.
