Petersburg, Va. - Senior Shawn Benson collected the best performance in the third round  of the Griffin Invitational in Petersburg, Va. on Tuesday to finish in fifth place, pacing the Trojans.

Benson in round three went 3-under at 69, which included an eagle on hole 11. Benson finished the tournament 4-under at 212.

The Trojans jumped five places since day one, moving into eighth place out of 14 teams.

To round out the Trojans, Lavrans Broen Holm in 38th at 8-over, Oscar Lönnqvist in 44th at 10-over, Max Lindblad in 72nd at 19-over, and finally Matthew Richardson in 75th at 21-over.

Mount Olive's men's golf travels to St. Augustine, Fla. for its next contest: the Jay Jennison on Sept. 29-30.
