MOUNT OLIVE (May 19) – Junior Lane McLean and redshirt sophomore Jon Howard were voted to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Southeast Region Teams on Monday.

McLean earned First-Team All-Region honors at shortstop to become a consensus all-region selection after earning the recognition from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) last week. Howard receives Second-Team All-Region status for the first time in his career as a utility player after playing both first and third base this season.

A native of Pine Level, North Carolina, McLean was featured as the leadoff hitter for the Trojans for a majority of the season while boasting a .321 batting average behind a team-leading 69 hits. He was voted to the All-Conference Carolinas First-Team and ranked eighth in NCAA Division II with 22 doubles. McLean tied for the team lead with 20 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI performances while posting a 24-game reached base streak this season. Additionally, in 51 starts, McLean finished with five homers, 44 RBI, 43 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases. Defensively, he made the All-Defensive Team for the Conference Carolinas after producing another elite season at shortstop with a team-best 151 assists and contributing to 30 double plays for Mount Olive.

Howard was featured on the All-Conference Carolinas Second-Team as a utility player after playing 31 games at third base and 18 at first base. He ranked among the top-15 in the Conference Carolinas and led the team with 10 homers while driving in 47 runs in 180 at-bats. Additionally, Howard tallied 56 hits, 14 doubles, and 43 runs scored while boasting a .311 batting average. He tied for the team lead with 12 multi-hit performances and finished with 14 multi-hit games. Defensively, Howard produced a stellar .986 fielding percentage with 62 assists and just three errors.
