GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 23) – Recent University of Mount Olive graduate Mike Kenney was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division II Southeast Region All-Defensive Team.

A native of Chandler, Arizona, Kenney earned all-defensive team honors at catcher after starting 39-of-51 games at the position. He produced an impressive .996 fielding percentage with 242 putouts and 30 assists while registering 16 caught stealing behind the plate. Kenney also garnered all-defensive honors from the Conference Carolinas this season.

The University of Mount Olive was one of two Conference Carolinas programs featured on the ABCA All-Defensive Team while placing an individual on the list for a third-straight year.

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
