MOUNT OLIVE (Sept. 21) – Behind a pair of goals in the first half on Saturday afternoon, the No. 7 ranked Trojans completed the season sweep over Lincoln Memorial with a 2-1 victory in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) play at Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex.
With the win, the University of Mount Olive field hockey team improves to 4-2 overall behind a 3-1 record in conference play. The Trojans continue to boast a perfect 5-0 record over LMU dating back to 2022 with three victories secured in Mount Olive. Meanwhile, the Lady Railsplitters drop to 0-4 this season with three losses coming by one goal.

Annefleur Moerkerken, 1-0. The Trojans out-shot LMU by a 3-0 margin in the first quarter and continued to control possession in the second. At the 25:31 mark, UMO extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal from sophomore

In the second half, the Lady Railsplitters regrouped and cut into the deficit in the opening minutes, as Katherine Brislin scored off a blocked shot to trail by a 2-1 margin. LMU finished the third quarter with a 4-2 shot advantage entering the final 15 minutes down by a goal. The Trojan managed to dominate possession in the fourth quarter to seal the conference win at home.

Alanna Barrett secured the win after playing the initial 30 minutes of the match. Freshman Lola Muñoz de Verger played the final two quarters and recorded a save in her second appearance of the season.
The Trojans finished with a 19-4 shot advantage in the contest while boasting an 8-1 lead in penalty corners.
Mount Olive returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 24, when it travels to face Limestone in conference play with the matchup set for noon.
