Wingate set the tone in the first quarter after recording four shots and five penalty corners in the initial three-plus minutes of the contest. The offensive pressure paid off at the 3:21 mark with a goal from Coda Fisher off a penalty corner from Audrey Proulx, 1-0. The Trojans registered their first shot just past the nine-minute mark before firing a shot on goal in the closing seconds of the first, which was saved. Mount Olive responded in the opening minutes of the second quarter with a pair of shots that were peppered at the goalkeeper, who once again held the Trojans scoreless. UMO finished the second with a 4-2 shot advantage but ultimately trailed by a goal.
