MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (April 27) – Behind two major award winners and eight conference champions, the University of Mount Olive women's track & field program delivered a tenth-straight Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championship while competing at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Junior
Adrienne Crawford, the Field Athlete of the Year, scored in four events at the league championship and totaled 26 points toward the team standings for the Trojans. On Friday, she captured the conference crown in the hammer throw while placing fifth in the javelin. Crawford reached the podium twice on Saturday with third-place finishes in the discus and shot put. Head Coach
Earl Graves was voted the Coach of the Year for a fourth consecutive season following a dominant performance over the weekend.
The Trojans scored 153.5 points on the final day of the league meet while scoring in 16 of a possible 20 events to finish first overall with 195.5 points. Mount Olive set four school records, nine NCAA provisional marks, and two meet records at the league meet. Converse placed second in the team standings with 140.5 points while UNC Pembroke finished third with 115 points.
Sophomore
Chianel Asoburuenwu delivered an outstanding performance at the conference meet and collected a pair of individual titles in the 100 and 200 meters while claiming the crown as part of the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams. She established a new school and meet record in the 200 meters with a blistering pace of 23.84 seconds in the prelims on Friday. Asoburuenwu also posted a new meet record in the 100 meters after crossing the line in 11.65 seconds in the finals.
Junior
Celine Fleurilus produced a pair of critical victories for the Trojans after winning the 800 and 1500 meters on Saturday. She registered a career-best time of 4:50.89 in the 1500 meters before posting a time of 2:19.21 in the 800 meters.

Natalyah Wilson, Asoburuenwu, and Jefferson earned the league title following a time of 3:51.58.
Jefferson set a new school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a staggering time of 59.26 seconds to place second overall. Her time ranks as the fifth-fastest in NCAA Division II this season.
Wilson posted a record-breaking performance in the 400 meters behind a second-place finish after crossing the line in 56.26 seconds.
Junior
Karla Hormazabal also set a UMO record on Saturday in the triple jump after leaping 12.02 meters to finish second in the event.
