Box Score MURFREESBORO, North Carolina - The Trojans of the University of Mount Olive's women's lacrosse team won in conference action 17-3, against the Hawks of Chowan University on a Wednesday afternoon road game.

Zoe Dougherty gained the first goal of the game from a pass off teammate
Meaghan Michaud. The first goal of the game by the Trojans set the pace for the rest of the competition. Mount Olive held Chowan scoreless for both quarters and had a 13-0 lead going into halftime. The leaders of the first half were
Ali Davis with four goals, Michaud with two goals and two assists.
Dougherty started off the beginning of the second half with a goal. In the third quarter, the Trojans led with two goals to Chowan's zero. UMO was able to gain control of the game and get more opportunities in front of the goal cage. The Hawks finally saw the cage as Grace Taylor got back-to-back goals at the start of the fourth quarter. Leia Cabradillia scored the last Chowan goal of the game and the score stood at 15-3. The Hawks efforts weren't enough as two more goals by the Trojans closed the game. Mount Olive was able to win their fifth conference game of the season with a score of 17-3.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was when the Trojans were able to defensively shut out the Hawks in the first quarter of the game. This set the tone for the rest of the competition and helped lead to their win.
