Box Score WILSON, N.C. - The Trojans hit the road for their first away game since since February 27th. Taking on the Barton Bulldogs on Tuesday evening, winning 13-7.
GAME INFORMATION
Four minutes into the game,
Meaghan Michaud found the back of the net, putting the Trojans up 1-0. Five minutes later, the Bulldogs scored twice in a two minute span, taking the lead, 2-1. Not to be outdone, the Trojans fired back with two goals of their own, one minute apart with
Kelly Young and
Nola Wesche getting on the board, retaking the lead, 3-2. A little over a minute later Weshe was fouled while attempting to score and was awarded a free position shot. She delivered, scoring her second on the day, increasing the Trojans lead to 4-2. This was followed by Young adding her second of the day, increasing the Trojans margin to three, 5-2. After a first ten minutes filled with goal scoring, each team locked it down defensively, only allowing a combined six shots on goal over a twelve minute span. The Bulldogs broke the lull in offense, finding the back of the net and brining themselves within two of the lead, 5-3. This led to a goalie change for the Trojans, bringing in
Jane Hobbs. The Bulldogs quickly scored another, making the score 5-4, Trojans, heading into halftime.Â
Mount Olive wasted no time scoring in the second half when
Kiara Burke ripped one home just forty-three seconds into the second half. Burke's goal was the first of three unanswered goals for the Trojans, extending their lead out to 8-4. With twenty-one minutes left to go, the Trojans and Bulldogs exchanged goals, making the score 9-6, one of the goals coming off the stick of
Emily Prentice. Five minutes later
Shaelyn Yermal scored for the Trojans, putting themselves back up by four, 10-6. Four minutes later
Peyton Youngblood scored, increasing the Trojans lead to 11-6. Eight minutes later the Trojans added two more insurance goals, putting themselves up 13-6. The Bulldogs would add a late goal, but ultimately fell short, 13-7.Â

Jayden Smith scored three goals for the Bulldogs.

The Trojans scored three unanswered goals to begin the second half, giving themselves a three goal lead, 8-5. Ultimately going on to win the game, 13-7.
