Box Score Wingate, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive No. 24 women's lacrosse team defeated Wingate University 13-12 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in Wingate, N.C.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The Wingate Bulldogs attacker Annie Plotts started the game with scoring the first goal leading the game 1-0 at the 27:20 mark. It didn't take long for the Trojans to respond back as Meaghan Michaud found the back of the net scoring her fourth goal this season, tying the game 1-1 with 26:32 remaining in the half. The Bulldogs then went on a 5-4 run, taking the lead 6-5 with 8:40 remaining in the first half. Mount Olive's Kiara Burke helped bring the game closer by tying game 6-6 with a free position shot ending the first half.
In the second half, Mount Olive came out strong putting four balls in the back of the net and taking a four-goal lead 10-6 with one free position and three unassisted goals. The Bulldogs responded quickly, putting up three goals but still trailed 9-10 with 15:06 remaining in the game. Both teams never took their foot off the gas, as the Trojans continued to stay in the lead 12-10 with Jackie Kaderabek finding Jordan Shugrue and UMO had a two-point lead with 8:04 left in the game. Wingate's offense found their rhythm scoring the last two goals to tie the game 12-12 to end the game, forcing overtime.
OVERTIME
Mount Olive's Tiffany Lee won the draw control for the Trojans and set up the offense for the UMO. Jackie Kaderabek was able to find an opening to take a shot but was fouled, giving Kaderabek a free position shot. The senior was able to place the ball in the back of the net, ending the game with a 13-12 win for the Trojans.

The Trojans were led by Tiffany Lee with four goals.
WINGATE LEADERS
The Bulldogs were led by Becca Ruiz with four goals and one assist.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was in overtime when Jackie Kaderabek was able to get a free position shot and found the placement to score the game-winning goal.
