SALISBURY, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team defeated the Catawba Indians 20-2 in their season-opening Friday afternoon in Salisbury, N.C. 

INSIDE THE SCORE
Mount Olive got on the scoreboard first with Tiffany Lee finding the back of the net at 27:47. The Indians answered back to tie the score 1-1 at the 22:35 mark. The Trojans then scored six goals to take the lead 7-1, with 9:22 remaining in the first half. The Indians scored their last goal trailing behind 7-2 at the 5:10 mark. The Trojans added four more goals to end the first half 11-2 advantage.

In the second half, Mount Olive came out of the intermission to score nine goals and shut down the Indians, not letting them score for the remainder of the contest. Mount Olive closed out the game and kept the lead 20-2. Four unassisted, three assisted and two free position completed the breakdown of the final nine goals.

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
The Trojans were led Tiffany Lee and Ali Davis with four goals. Jackie Kaderabek and Meaghan Michaud both added two goals.

CATAWBA LEADERS
The Indians were led by Katie Barth and Brooklyn Tilley with one goal each.

KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was in the first half when the Trojans added four goals to finish the first half and continued to keep the lead the remainder of the game.
