Serenity Harvey and
Chris Harris are named Track and Field Freshman of the Month for March by the conference on Friday afternoon.Â
Serenity Harvey, a sprinter from Whiteville, N.C., is named freshman of the month for the second month is a row and continues to be an asset on the track breaking multiple school records in her first season at the collegiate level, hitting multiple Provisional marks along with helping in the 4x100 and 4x400 to break a school and conference record. Harvey is currently ranked eighth in the nation for Division II for the 200m dash and first in the conference with a time of 23.44 seconds. She achieved second team All-American in NCAA Indoor TxF Championships.Â
Chris Harris, a thrower from Middlesex, N.C., is named freshman of the month for the first time in his career after hitting a Provo mark of 13.89 meters in the shot put where he is currently ranked seventh in the conference. Harris is also ranked second in discus and seventh in the hammer throw. He achieved the second place rank at the UNCW Seahawk Invite with a throw of 47.28 meters and hit the seventh place rank this past weekend with a throw of 48.00 meters in the Hammer.Â
