GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 18) - The University of Mount Olive Trojans men's and women's track and field team went over to the Aggie Invitational where they took home three NCAA provisional marks in Saturday afternoon competition.
The women's 4x100, which included
Serenity Harvey,
Futoria Harris,
Heavan Roberts, and
Haniyyah Johnson, continue to make marks for the Trojans. This week they brought a Provo mark time of 45.00 seconds to place fifth in the race. Johnson also took seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.74 metersÂ
Sophomore
Janara Bryant took second and achieved a Provo mark with a leap of 12.70 meters in the triple jump while fellow sophomore Ryan Wilson McCoy also hit a Provo mark in the triple jump with a leap of 14.75 where he took fourth place.
For the throws on the men's side,
Micah Harrison threw a second place distance of 55.39 meters in the hammer throw while teammate
Will Poindexter threw a 13th place finish of 40.72 meters in the discus.
Wonderful Fadipe and
Javariante Core competed in the triple jump where they took seventh and eighth place. Fadipe jumped a distance of 14.31 meters and Core leaped 14.27 meters to complete their day in the sand.Â
Kobe Jones took fourth in the high jump with a height of 2.01 meters.
On the track,
Peyton Roebuck ran a season best in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:32:49 while teammate
Alex White ran a 5:03.23 minutes 1500.Â
Savannah Odom threw the hammer 41.33 meters to take 13th place and Calli Wilbanks took 14th place with a discus throw of 35.38 meters.Â
The Trojans complete their regular season this weekend and will be going to conference championships April 23-25 at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
