MOUNT OLIVE —  University of Mount Olive freshmen Brooks Ignosci and Serenity Harvey have been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball and Women's Track and Field Freshman of the Month for February.

Through eight games, Ignosci recorded ten or more kills on five separate occasions and reached a career-high 19 kills twice. He secured above a .300 hitting percentage three different times with his highest coming in the 3-2 win over Charleston (WV) on Feb. 6, where he recorded a .351 hitting percentage on 19 kills, 6 errors and 37 total attacks. 

He finished the month off hitting .243 percent with 93 kills and 108.0 total points leading the Trojans to a seven-game win streak in February.

UMO gets some down time to start March before taking part in the OUTRIGGER Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. The Trojans first match is set for 12am on March 13 against Hawaii, with following matches against UCLA on March 13th and Lewis on March 14th each beginning at 9pm.

Harvey's 200 meter time of a 23.98 garnered her a first place finish at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships and also put her into the top 20 provo marks in Division II. With her finish in the 200 meter, Harvey along with three of her teammates qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships. 

She also took part in the 400 meter where she finished second with a time of 55.65. 

Following the conference championships, Conference Carolinas announced Harvey as the 2025-2056 Women's Indoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year.
