GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's outdoor track and field team enters the 2026 season as the preseason favorite after topping the Conference Carolinas poll released Thursday.
The Trojans earned 192 points and 13 first-place votes. Converse followed with 170 points and one first-place vote, while North Greenville placed third with 160 points. Belmont Abbey (152) and Lees-McRae (132) rounded out the top five.
Mount Olive's players to watch include
Haniyyah Johnson,
Alex White, and
Cynthia Thomas.
Johnson a senior accomplished first team All-American in the 60m hurdles at 2026 NCAA Championships for indoors track & field while also taking second place All-American in long jump. White a sophomore distance runner has the top mark on the team for the mile. While senior thrower Thomas takes first place at Conference Championships in the weight throw.
The Trojans opened the 2026 season on March 6 at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invite in Wilmington, N.C.
