Greenwood, S.C. (Jan. 20) After record performances from
Heavan Roberts and
Haniyyah Johnson, these two athletes were named Conference Carolinas Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Heavan Roberts, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va. earned a NCAA provisional mark and finished first place in the 200m dash with a time of 24.94 seconds. Roberts also finished in second place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.72 seconds.
Haniyyah Johnson, a senior from Farmville, Va. recorded a 7.51 in the semis, while earning a NCAA provisional and putting herself second all-time. Johnson also placed first in the long jump and earning herself another Provo with a distance of 5.81 meters. Johnson also participated in the shotput where she placed second and her distance of 12.87 meters places her third all-time.
UMO proceeds to action on January 23-24 at Hokie Invitational hosted in Blacksburg, Virginia.
