LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 21) – The University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse program featured a pair of United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-South Region selections, which were announced by the organization on Tuesday.

For a consecutive year, senior Alan Usher was recognized by the USILA and made his first appearance on the all-region second-team as a defender. Redshirt senior Josh Mauer was named an honorable mention at face-off on the all-region teams for the first time in his career.

Usher garnered USA Lacrosse All-American status for a consecutive season after becoming just the second-ever, two-time Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year in league history. He entered the season as a preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse and was named to the 2025 All-Conference Carolinas First-Team. Usher led a Trojan defense that finished first in the Conference Carolinas in man-down defense (.741) and ground balls per game (35.71). Additionally, UMO ranked second in the league with a 9.64 scoring defense while sitting third in caused turnovers per game (9.86). This season, Usher tallied 19 caused turnovers while forcing at least three in four contests. He added 22 ground balls while starting all 14 games.

Mauer earned All-Conference Carolinas First-Team honors as a face-off specialist after ranking fifth in NCAA Division II with a .688 face-off winning percentage (187-272). He won double-digit faceoffs in 11 contests, including 15 or more in seven games this season. Mauer finished second on the team with 59 ground balls and ranked sixth in the league with 4.21 ground balls per game. He collected all-conference honors for a second straight year.
