MOUNT OLIVE (April 12) – On Senior Day at Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex, the University of Mount Olive women's track & field program recorded five victories while hosting the Trojan Relays on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Kenisha Barnes established an NCAA provisional standard in the hammer throw and placed second overall with a personal-best toss of 54.88 meters. She joins teammate
Elin Rydqvist as the only two individuals to reach the NCAA Provo in the Conference Carolinas. Rydqvist placed third in the event with a distance of 52.39 meters, while senior
Rolanda Desir-Moreau finished fourth with a mark of 51.17 meters.
Senior
Karla Hormazabal won the triple jump with a leap of 11.94 meters on Saturday, while junior
Keza Green placed third overall with a distance of 11.09 meters.
Freshman
Janara Bryant collected a pair of victories at her home meet. She posted a first-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.85 meters. She also placed first in the high jump after clearing 1.57 meters. Additionally, Hormazabal hit the league qualifying mark in the high jump with a mark of 1.57 meters.
Freshman
Linn Andrea Lindevik produced the second-best time in the 800 meters after placing first in the event with a time of 2:19.84.
Fellow freshman
Alyssa Callihan recorded a first-place finish in the 3000 meters steeplechase and reached the league standard with a time of 13:41.90.

In the javelin, freshman
Isabelle Grena placed second overall and hit the league standard with a toss of 31.61 meters. Sophomore
MacKenna Gallon finished third in the event with a mark of 31.42 meters.
Mims recorded a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.54, which was a season-best mark. Simmons crossed the line in 1:07.84 to place third overall.
Slate reached the conference qualifying mark and finished fourth with a time of 59.41 seconds in the 400 meters.
Mims produced a season-best mark in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.54 seconds before placing fourth in the finals after crossing the line in 15.75 seconds.
In the discus, Barnes recorded a fifth-place finish with a toss of 38.75 meters, while freshman
Jasmine Colwell finished sixth with a distance of 37.90 meters.
Freshman Janna Tupuola reached the league standard in the shot put with a mark of 11.25 meters to place seventh.
Pemberton hit the conference mark in the 100-meter dash after crossing the line in 12.32 seconds.
The Trojans are scheduled to return to action April 18-19 at the App State Open hosted in Boone, North Carolina.
