MOUNT OLIVE (March 26) – After featuring 13 goal scorers on Wednesday afternoon, the University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse program secured a 26-0 shutout victory over Chowan in Conference Carolinas action at Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex.
With the win, the Trojans capture a fourth straight win to improve to 5-6 overall with a 4-1 record in league play. Mount Olive claims its second shutout win of the season while remaining a perfect 12-0 in the all-time series versus Chowan. Meanwhile, the Hawks fall to 0-6 this season behind a 0-3 mark in conference action.

Logan Hibbard delivered an outstanding all-around performance with four goals, three assists, nine draw controls, six caused turnovers, and six ground balls. Redshirt sophomore
Katie Broom produced a five-point game with four goals and one assist while adding three ground balls. Senior

Mount Olive scored 10 goals in the opening quarter of the play, highlighted by a pair of goals from Hibbard, White, and DeFilippo. The Trojans would start the running clock at the 1:37 mark of the first quarter following a man-up goal by White off an assist from sophomore
Anna Greco. In the second quarter, UMO rattled the back of the cage seven more times with Weddle recording a pair of goals to take a 17-0 lead into the break.
The Trojans began the third with a goal from sophomore
Caroline Clark before Greco netted her first goal of the season at the 8:54 mark. Freshman
Ava Mullen and Hibbard scored in the final seven minutes of the quarter to hold a 21-0 advantage heading into the fourth. Mount Olive ultimately registered five additional goals in the final quarter, highlighted by a pair by Broom and freshman
Isabella Franssens scoring her first collegiate goal.

Lily Mahoney earned the win and registered one save while playing the entire first half. The sophomore duo of
Ruby Burandt and
Karissa Doerr closed out the final two quarters on Wednesday. Defensively, sophomore
Simone McCraw totaled three caused turnovers, five draw controls, and two ground balls.
Mount Olive finished with a significant 43-2 shot advantage while boasting a 20-8 lead in draw controls.
The Trojans will be idle for nearly a week before traveling to face Barton in league play on Tuesday, April 1, starting at 6 p.m.
