INDIANAPOLIS (March 13) – University of Mount Olive freshman
Futoria Harris made her debut at the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash on Thursday afternoon.
Harris finished third in Heat 1 and 13th overall in the preliminaries after crossing the line in 7.50 seconds. Her time just missed the second qualifying spot in her heat by two-tenths of a second while competing at the Fall Creek Pavilion. The top times from each heat, plus the following two best times, advanced to the finals of the 60 meters.
Defending National Champion Alexis Brown of Lenoir-Rhyne registered the fastest mark in the preliminaries on Wednesday after matching her career-best mark of 7.18 seconds.

Haniyyah Johnson will compete tomorrow, Friday, March 13, at the NCAA National Championships. Johnson is set to participate in the long jump at 3 p.m. while Harris competes in the 200m at 5 p.m.
