GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's indoor track and field team enters the 2026 season as the preseason favorite after topping the Conference Carolinas poll released Tuesday.
The Trojans earned 173 points and six first-place votes. Converse followed with 162 points and one first-place vote, while UNC Pembroke placed third with 147 points and one first-place vote. Belmont Abbey (126) and Southern Wesleyan (112) rounded out the top five.
Mount Olive's players to watch include
Travelius Leach,
Sigursteinn Asgeirsson, and
Evan Hall.Â
Leach earned 2025 Outdoor All-Conference Third Team honors. Asgeirsson claimed First Team All-Conference recognition in both indoor and outdoor track in 2025, matching his First Team honors from 2024. Hall, a distance runner, enters the indoor season after setting a personal best in the 8K during cross country and posting two top-ten finishes last indoor season.
The Trojans open the 2025 season on December 5 at the Marlin First Chance in Virginia Beach, Va., hosted by Virginia Wesleyan.
