Greenwood, S.C. – (Jan. 13^th) Following a career-best performance at the VCU Rams Invitational, University of Mount Olive junior thrower Sigursteinn Asgeirsson was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Field Athlete of the Week by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Asgeirsson achieved a personal-best mark as well as setting a school and conference record with a first-place Shot-Put throw of 16.68 meters (54.72 feet).

Mount Olive will return to action on January 16-17 at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted in Selam, Virginia.
