The University of Mount Olive turned in a strong, well-rounded performance at the Finn Pincus Invitational, collecting multiple event wins, provisional marks, and all-time program performances.
On the men's side,
Leland Smith won the 60 meters in 6.84, ranking third all-time, while
Travelius Leach captured first in the 300 (35.08). Mount Olive stacked the 300 podium with Zach Broadus (2nd, 35.33) and
Henry Bullock (3rd, 35.97). Bullock also placed second in the 400 (49.89), with Broadus third (51.47).
Ryan Wilson-McCoy, won the triple jump (14.76, provisional). In the throws, Stony won the shot put (15.99), while
Antoine King took first in the weight throw (16.84, 9th all-time) and third in shot put (7th all-time).
The women were equally impressive.
Futoria Harris won the 60 (7.58, provisional) and placed second in the 200, while
Heavan Roberts finished second in the 60 and won the 200 (24.94, provisional).
Haniyyah Johnson posted a provisional 7.51 in the 60 semifinals (2nd all-time), won the long jump, and placed second in the shot put (3rd all-time).
In the middle distances,
Serenity Harvey won the 300,
Essence Slate won the 400, and
Danielle Johnston claimed first in the mile (Q), followed by
Alex White in second. Johnston also helped the distance medley relay finish third. Field highlights included
Zaria Washington winning the 60m hurdles (6th all-time),
Trinity Frayer winning the pole vault,
Janara Bryant winning the triple jump (provisional), and
Jasmine Colwell taking first in the shot put (2nd all-time).
Mount Olive's performance featured depth, dominance, and momentum as the Trojans continue Friday January 23 at the Hokie Invitational.
