TEMPE, Ariz. (June 13) – After making their eighth postseason appearance in program history, the Trojans finished No. 27 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Team Rankings, which were compiled by the ITA National Ranking Committees at the end of May.
The University of Mount Olive men's tennis program delivered a stellar season under first-year head coach
Jake McCartney. The Trojans finished with a 17-6 overall record while posting a 6-2 mark in conference play. UMO made an impressive run in the Conference Carolinas Tournament to reach the title match, including defeating the No. 1 seed Young Harris in the semifinals. Following the league tournament, the Trojans captured an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
As a team, Mount Olive produced an impressive 82-36 (.695) record in singles play with five players reaching double-digit victories. Additionally, recent graduate
Guilherme Zotin de Oliveira finished No. 19 in the Southeast Regional rankings after registering a 13-4 record in singles at the first position.
