MOUNT OLIVE (April 6) – Behind an 11-point performance by junior
Rileigh White, the No. 25 ranked University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant 24-8 victory over North Greenville on Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action.
With the win, the Trojans improve to 10-3 this season while remaining a perfect 5-0 in league play. It marks the 10th straight season that Mount Olive has reached double-digit wins, excluding the shortened 2020 season. Meanwhile, the Crusaders drop to 4-11 overall behind a 3-4 mark in conference action.
White registered a career-high 11 points behind six goals and five assists while adding seven draw controls and three ground balls. Fifth-year
Bria Hamilton filled up the stat sheet with three goals, three assists, nine draw controls, two caused turnovers, and six ground balls. Freshman
Caroline Clark scored a season-high five goals on Saturday while a trio of Trojans totaled three points in the win.
North Greenville established an early two-goal lead in the opening quarter before UMO answered with back-to-back goals in under a minute by White and junior
Lena DeFilippo, 2-2. At the 9:16 mark, DeFilippo scored off an assist by junior
Teagan Dunnett to take a 3-2 edge, but the Crusaders quickly countered to tie the game. In the closing minutes of the first quarter, White produced consecutive goals to complete her hat trick, as Mount Olive held a 5-3 advantage. In the second, the Trojans totaled three goals in the opening three minutes with Clark scoring twice while Hamilton found the back of the cage at the 12:03 mark. The sides exchanged the next seven goals during the quarter before UMO scored three straight times in the final 1:42 to take a 14-7 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Crusaders scored the initial goal at the 12:33 mark before the Trojans scored five unanswered goals over the final 10-plus minutes. Sophomore

The Trojans featured three goalkeepers in the victory, as freshman
Karissa Doerr earned her first collegiate win after tallying four saves while playing the entire second half. Defensively, five UMO players recorded two caused turnovers, including sophomore
Alex Goodale, who collected five ground balls.
The Trojans return to action on Monday, April 8, for a Conference Carolinas contest against rival Barton at 6 p.m.
