LYNCHBURG, Va. (Feb. 4) – Sophomore
Chianel Asoburuenwu reached the NCAA Provisional Standard in the 60-meter dash on Saturday, as the University of Mount Olive women's track & field program competed at the Liberty Open.
Asoburuenwu finished second overall in the 60-meter dash after crossing the line with a time of 7.58 seconds. She continues to hold the fastest time in the Conference Carolinas while boasting the third-best mark in the region. Asoburuenwu also competed in the 200 meters and placed third overall with a time of 24.95 seconds, which is the second-best time in Mount Olive history.

Heavan Roberts, and sophomore
Channie Jefferson claimed first place with a time of 3:55.55, which ranks second in the Southeast Region and paces the Conference Carolinas this indoor season.
In the triple jump, junior
Karla Hormazabal registered a second-place finish after reaching a distance of 11.79 meters (38-8.25 feet) in the event. Senior
Kiana Hatchett finished seventh overall with a season-best mark of 10.94 meters (35-10.75 feet), while sophomore
Keza Green improved her league qualifying in the event with a distance of 10.82 meters (35-6.00 feet).
Wilson recorded a third-place finish in the high jump after clearing 1.52 meters (4-11.75 feet), while also improving her qualifying standard in the 400 meters with a time of 58.23 seconds to place fourth overall. She boasts the top time in the Conference Carolinas in the 400m this year.
Additionally, Jefferson placed fifth overall with a time of 58.32 seconds in the 400 meters, which improves her to second in the Conference Carolinas. Briggs finished sixth in the event after crossing the line at 58.49 seconds.
Roberts produced a seventh-place finish with a time of 25.43 seconds in the 200 meters, which is the fourth-best mark in Mount Olive history. Freshman
Kiara Campbell qualified for the 200 meters with a time of 25.70 seconds, which is the eighth fastest in program history. She also improved her conference qualifying mark in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.88 seconds.
Junior
Jamesha Howell posted a distance of 5.38 meters (17-8.00 feet) in the long jump to improve her league standard.
Senior
Rolanda Desir-Moreau improved her conference qualifying mark in the weight throw with a toss of 15.94 meters (50-9.50 feet).
UMO returns to action next weekend on Feb. 9-10 for the DIII Pre-National Meet, which will be held in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
