SALEM, Va. (Jan. 20) – Sophomore
Trinity Frayer broke her own all-time school record in the pole vault, as the Trojans registered six event victories while competing at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College this weekend.
On Friday evening, Frayer established a new school record on her final attempt after clearing 3.35 meters (10-11.75 feet) to claim a tie for first place in the event. She is currently tied for the top spot in the Southeast Region while boasting the best mark in the Conference Carolinas this season.
Senior
Natalyah Wilson earned three podium finishes, including a first-place finish in the 200 meters while competing in Virginia. She registered a season-best mark and ranks third in the conference after crossing the line with a time of 25.88 seconds in the 200m on Saturday. Wilson claimed second overall in the high jump while clearing 1.55 meters (5-1.00 feet) to match her top mark during this indoor campaign. She also posted a second-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 59.85 seconds, which sits fourth in the Conference Carolinas and eighth all-time in school history.
In the weight throw, junior
Adrienne Crawford earned the individual crown after a personal-best toss of 15.98 meters (52-5.25 feet) to remain atop the league in the event while posting the fourth-best mark all-time in program history. Additionally, senior
Rolanda Desir-Moreau placed fourth overall in the weight throw with a distance of 15.64 meters (51-3.75 feet), the fifth-best mark at Mount Olive all-time.
Senior
Vinesha Briggs registered an event win in the 400 meters with a time of 59.76 seconds, which ranks third in the Conference Carolinas this season. She reached a conference qualifying mark in the 200 meters after crossing the line with a time of 26.20 seconds to finish second overall on Saturday.
Junior
Lasira Nicholson claimed the individual title in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.87 seconds, which sits 10th all-time in program history. Freshman
Heavan Roberts placed second overall with a time of 8.03 seconds and junior
Jamesha Howell placed fifth with a time of 8.04 seconds.
In the shot put,
Katlyn Parrish earned a first-place finish with a toss of 12.01 meters (39-5.00 feet) and continues to hold the top position in the event. She also placed sixth overall with a personal-best distance of 14.56 meters (47-9.25 feet) in the weight throw, which ranks fourth in the league. Additionally, junior Kaitlin Kenen finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 11.46 meters (37-7.25 feet).
Howell recorded a second-place finish in the long jump to improve her league standard in the event with a mark of 5.23 meters (17-2.00 feet)
In the 200m, Roberts finished fourth overall after crossing the line with a time of 26.34 seconds.
Senior
Kiana Hatchett registered a fourth-place finish with a distance of 10.50 meters (34-5.50 feet).
In the 60-meter hurdles, junior
Kiwanna Pemberton placed sixth overall with a time of 9.92 seconds.
Junior
Celine Fleurilus finished fifth in the 800 meters after crossing the line with a time of 2:27.46, while placing sixth overall with a time of 1:26.91 in the 500 meters.
The Trojans return to competition on Jan. 26-27 at the VMI Invitational in Lexington, Virginia.
