LYNCHBURG, Va. (Jan. 12) – Sophomore
Chianel Asoburuenwu established an NCAA Provisional Standard in the 60-meter dash, as the Trojans secured four victories while competing at The Burg Open in Virginia on Friday.
Asoburuenwu posted a personal-best time of 7.65 seconds in the 60-meter dash to claim the event win, which is the fourth-fastest time in Mount Olive history. Additionally, she captured a first-place finish in the 200 meters after a blistering pace of 25.42 seconds. Asoburuenwu holds the top time in the Conference Carolinas in the 200m while moving to second in the league in the 60m.
Junior
Karla Hormazabal claimed the individual title in the triple jump with a distance of 11.59 meters to improve her league standard and remain atop the Conference Carolinas in the event. She also finished sixth overall in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 5.19 meters to qualify for the conference championships.

Katlyn Parrish registered a first-place finish in the shot put in a field of nearly 30 competitors following a toss of 12.21 meters, which leads the Conference Carolinas this season.

Adrienne Crawford produced second place with a personal-best distance of 15.71 meters, which is the top mark in the league and ranks fourth all-time at UMO. Freshman
Elin Rydqvist improved her league qualifying mark with a toss of 14.43 meters to place fourth overall, while sophomore
Kenisha Barnes posted a conference standard with a mark of 13.69 meters to finish fifth. Junior
Kaitlin Kenan also reached the league mark following a toss of 13.43 meters to place sixth overall while competing in Virginia.

Keza Green posted a second-place finish in the triple jump after reaching a distance of 10.75 meters, which is the 10th-best mark all-time at UMO. Senior
Kiana Hatchett placed third overall in the event after recording a mark of 10.72 meters.
In the 60-meter hurdles, sophomore
Channie Jefferson registered a personal-best time of 9.01 seconds in the prelims and qualified for the conference championships before placing second overall in the finals with a time of 9.32 seconds. She now holds the second-best mark in the Conference Carolinas this season and ranks fourth all-time at Mount Olive in the event. Additionally, junior

J'Naya Vaughan improved their league marks. Pemberton produced a personal-best time of 9.61 seconds in the prelims before finishing fourth in the final after crossing the line with a time of 9.71 seconds. Vaughan posted a career-best mark of 9.68 seconds in the prelims, which is the 10th-fastest all-time at UMO.
Senior
Natalyah Wilson registered a league-qualifying mark in the 200 meters and placed second overall with a time of 25.72 seconds, which ranks second in the Conference Carolinas. Lasira Nicholson improved her conference qualifying mark following a third-place finish with a time of 7.91 seconds. Freshman

Trinity Frayer produced a fifth-place finish in the pole vault after clearing 3.15 meters.
Mount Olive returns to action next weekend at the Finn Pincus Invitational on Jan. 19-20 in Salem, Virginia.
