MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. (Oct 7) - In a rematch of the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Championship (SAC) game, Mount Olive shutout Converse 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex.
With the win, the University of Mount Olive field hockey team improves to 10-1 overall and 9-0 in the SAC. This victory extends the Trojans win streak to 10 in a row. Meanwhile, the Valkyries fall to 5-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

Annefleur Moerkerken. Taking a quick shot at the top of the circle, Moerkerken scored her second goal of the season, at the 20:07 mark of the match, 1-0. Ending the first half, the Trojans held the advantage over Converse.

Amber Dercksen found herself with a goal opportunity. Taking on the CU keeper one-on-one and beating her with a spin move, she found the back of the cage, 2-0. At the 38:14 mark, Mount Olive was rewarded with a penalty stroke. Placing the shot near the top right corner of the cage, sophomore
Nikki Bos put one past the keeper, 3-0. At the end of the quarter, Bos controlled the ball after the initial save by Converse, as she took a shot, freshman
Femke van Marle tipped the ball to score the final goal of the match, 4-0. Sealing the win, the Trojans won by a 4-0 margin.

Mia Neckritz earned the win and collected three saves on three shots on goal in 60 minutes of play.
Mount Olive held a 16-9 shot advantage with 13 shots on goal, UMO also held a 12-5 edge in penalty corners.
The Trojans hit the road on Tuesday Oct. 10 to play Wingate at 4 p.m.
