GREENVILLE, S.C. (Aug. 30) – Behind a pair of victories in net last week, University of Mount Olive sophomore goalkeeper
Axel Engren was selected the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday morning.
Engren made a combined 12 saves last week, as the Trojans registered a 2-0 record in non-conference play. On Thursday night, he tallied a career-high eight saves with five stops in the second half, including a penalty save, in 90 minutes of action in a 2-1 win over Catawba. The 6-foot-0 sophomore then gathered four saves while facing nine shots in a 3-2 victory at Newberry on Sunday afternoon.
