MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina. --- The University of Mount Olive (UMO) announced the scholar-athletes of the month. This month, the award recipients are Azariah Fields and Dominic Hagerty. 

A member of the Women's Basketball team, Fields is a senior Exercise Science major. 

Fields won the D2 ADA Academic Achievement award in the 2019-2020 season and just this year was named to the Conference Carolinas first team All-conference team. She has also made the Presidential Honor Roll during the 2019-2020 and 2018-2019 school year. Women's Basketball concluded their season in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Championship.

Hagerty is a member of the Men's Volleyball team and is a sophomore with a major in Biology. 

Hagerty is also the reigning Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year. UMO Men's volleyball is back underway March 18 at Erskine.

Scholar Athletes of the Month winners are nominated by University of Mount Olive faculty members and selected by a committee chaired by UMO math professor and faculty athletics representative Dr. Brenda Cates.
