MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina. --- The University of Mount Olive (UMO) announced the scholar-athletes of the month. This month, the award recipients are Mary Brigid Keck and Nick Richardson.

A member of the women's track and field team, Keck is a senior Business Administration Business Management major. 

Keck has made the Presidential Honor Roll during the 2019-2020 school year. Additionally, she was named Conference Champion in the Discus with a throw of 50.39m, and she finished 2nd place at Conference Championship in the Shot Put with a throw of 12.51m in the 2020-2021 season. 

Richardson is a member of the men's wrestling team, a senior Health and Physical Education Licensure major.

Richardson has made the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll in multiple semesters. He has helped lead the Trojans to a 7-6 overall record and 1-3 conference record so far in the wrestling season. 

Scholar Athletes of the Month winners are nominated by University of Mount Olive faculty members and selected by a committee chaired by UMO math professor and faculty athletics representative Dr. Brenda Cates.
