ROANOKE, Virginia - The University of Mount Olive men's track and field team had a strong showing at the East Coast Invitational in Virginia Beach, Va. The Trojans saw several event winners, UMO top-10 placers, and a school record broken.

The Trojan men's and women's teams competed in their first full meet as a team since 2020.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
On the men's side Cas Kopmels moved into 9th all-time in the 800m (1:58.79), 3000m (8:35.24), and the mile (4:19.84) placing 2nd and 1st respectively in those events. Justen Burnette in the 200m (22.18) improved his 6th place all-time ranking taking 5th in the event. Michael Lotts imporved his 3rd place mark in the weight throw (16.21m) placing 2nd in the event. Jon Wojcuich for the second week in a row broke the school record in the weight throw (17.28m) winning the event, he also took 8th in the shot put (11.87m).
In other events; Mattia Marci placed 3rd in the 800m (1:59.16), 8th in the 3000m (9:05.58), and 2nd in the mile (4:31.47). Asthton Olmstead took 8th in the 3000m (9:27.71) and 4th in the mile (4:45.17). Ethan Hines placed 4th in the long jump (6.90m) and 5th in the triple jump (13.59m). Nykie Pray placed 6th in the long jump (6.72m), triple jump (13.14m), and high jump (1.78m). Isaiah Foster took 8th in the long jump (6.48m). Tanner Smith won the pole vault (3.90m). Josh Faison won the shot put (14.84m). Tom Kalliske took 2nd in the shot (13.67m) and 6th in the weight throw (12.82m). Michael Lotts finished 5th in shot put (12.96m). Dorian Tolbert in the shot put (12.50m) and weight throw (14.25m) finished 7th and 3rd respectively. Jawann Washington took 7th and 4th in the triple jump (12.98m) and high jump (1.83m). Kamden Johnson took 5th in the high jump (1.83m). Billy Crawford finished 8th in the weight throw (11.87m)
On the women's side, McKenzie Connor improved her 2nd all-time spot in the 60mh (8.91) and is the 20th fastest time in NCAA DII. Mary Brigid Keck improved her 4th place all-time mark in the weight throw (15.43m) winning the event. Tylyia Triggs moved into 7th all-time in the 60mh (9.73)
In other events; Monique Whiteman finished 7th in the 800m (2:34.33) and 2nd in the mile (5:44.26). Celine Fleurilus took 8th in both the 800m (2:34.60) and mile (6:48.58). Jacqueline Thring finished 8th in the 400m (62.38). Elizabeth Lopez took 3rd in the mile (6:02.14) and 2nd in the 3000m (12:21.75). Continuing results in the mile, Neva Hippert finished 4th (6:09.11). Sydney McDonald took 5th (6:11.56) Paige Witteborg finished 6th (6:36.97), and Jessica Glenn took 7th (6:46.85). McDonald also won the 3000m (12:16.85). Sydney McCoy took 8th in 200m (26.14). Erin Lanier finished 3rd in the 3000m (12:45.64). In the shot put Kaliya Sutton took 5th (11.11m), Tameia Morrison finished 6th (10.71m), Keck took 7th (10.67m) Samantha Tobin took 8th (10.55m). In the weight throw, Morrison finished 3rd (14.07m), Tobin took 5th (12.36m), and Trinity Holder finished 7th (10.83m). Mora Smith took 5th in the triple jump (10.60m
