SALEM, Virginia - The University of Mount Olive men's track and field team had a strong showing at the Roanoke Invitational in Salem, Va. The Trojans saw 10 moves inside the top-10 all-time list, one NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark hit, a school record broken, and two Trojans take the 1st-place spot in the conference.

The Trojan men's and women's teams saw their first school record broken and second NCAA Provisional mark hit of the indoor season on Saturday.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
On the women's side, Candise Lockett had a great day in the weight throw hitting a mark of 15.90m placing second in the meet and breaking the UMO school record and taking over first in the conference. Also in the weight throw, Tameia Morrison's mark of 15.16m placed her 3rd and moved her into third all-time in UMO history and fourth in the conference. In the high jump, Jacqueline Thring took second with her mark of 1.55m and moved into a tie for fifth in the UMO record book and takes third in the conference. Mora Smith (5.20m) took seventh in the long jump and moved into fifth in the UMO record book and eighth in the conference. In the shot put, Mary Keck (11.25m) took sixth in the meet and sits in a tie for sixth in the conference while moving into 10th in the UMO record book.
In other events; Samantha Tobin (13.65m) took sixth in the weight throw. Keck (14.72m) took fourth in the weight throw. Daphne Hawkins (11.32m) finished fourth in the shot put. Jaiden Moody took third in the 400m with a time of 62.30. Kamber Skeen (2.75m) moved into sixth in the conference in the pole vault.
On the men's side in the long jump, Eian Hines (7.20m) won the event and sits tied for 18th in NCAA DII in the event while improving his 1st-placemark in the conference and was three centimeters away from his own school record. Nykie Pray (6.70m) also in the long jump, took third and moved into the top-10 in the UMO record book and is now seventh in the conference. Isaiah Foster (13.57m) took second in the triple jump and moved into eighth in the conference and ninth in the UMO record book. Ben Howard (14.19m) in the weight throw, nipped at the school record taking third in the event and moved into second all-time and seventh in the conference. Tom Kalliske (13.54m) also in the weight throw took sixth and moved into eighth all-time.
In other events; Tanner Smith (4.05m) took fourth in the pole vault and improved his third-place position in the conference. Eian Hines (13.87m) won the triple jump. Also placing in the triple jump; Nykie Pray (13.39m 3rd), Jawann Washington (13.01m 4th), and Ethan Hines (12.74m 5th). In the long jump, Ethan Hines (6.68m) took fourth, Foster (6.37m) took fifth, and Washington (6.29m) finished sixth. Washington also won the high jump with a distance of 1.93m. Daniel Francken (15:47.27) won the 5000m and moved into second in the conference. Daniel DeMelo-Knapp in the 60m (7.16) too fourth. Jon Wojcuich finished fourth in the weight throw. In the 400m, Montrell Perry (52.34) finished 5th and Elijah Osimokun (52.49) took 7th. Lastly in the shot put Josh Faison (14.96m) won the event while Dorian Tolbert (12.19m) took seventh.
