Trojans Track And Field Continue Success At JDL College Kick-Off

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's track and field team had a strong showing at the JDL College Kick-Off in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Trojans set 22 Conference Carolinas qualifying marks and saw six Trojans move inside the top-10 on the all-time list.

MEET INFORMATION
The Trojan men's and women's teams competed in their first full meet as a team at the JDL kick-off.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
On the men's side in the 60m Zach Jenkins. took 6th with a time of 6.92 and moved into third on the UMO All-time list. Jawann Washington, in the high jump, finished seventh with a mark of 1.95m and now sits third on the UMO All-time list. In the triple jump Ivan Lopez hit a distance of 13.64m good enough for fifth on the UMO All-time list.

In other events; Altan Cornu took first with his time of 1:58.22 in the 800m. In the 60MH Demond Cooper took fourth with a time 8.44. Trevor Carr finished seventh in the triple jump with his mark of 14.23m. The Trojans also set 10 Conference Carolinas qualifying marks.

On the women's side, Jaiden Moody moved into ninth on the UMO All-Time list in the 200m with her time of 26.45. Brittany Beckford in the high jump, tied for second-place on the UMO All-time and finished seventh in her event with a mark of 1.60m. Lastly in the 60MH prelims, Jasmine Richardson moved into second-place all-time with her time of 8.93.

In other events; Sydney McCoy in the 60m took fifth with a time of 7.69. In the 200m dash, McCoy finished in a time of 25.85 and took third. Amber Owens, in the 3000m, finished in 10:53.48 and took seventh. The 4x400m team of Jaiden Moody, Brittany Beckford, Jasmine Richardson, and Jacqueline Thring took fourth with their time of 4:05.64. Lastly in the high jump, Taylor Moncrief finished fifth with her mark of 1.60m. The Trojans also set 12 Conference Carolinas qualifying marks.

The Trojans are back in competition tomorrow when the team heads to the CNU Holiday Open in Newport News, Va.
