Birmingham, Ala. – Leah Hanle became the first female indoor track & field All-American in program history after finishing 10th in the 3000m at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship in Birmingham, Alabama Saturday night. Hanle's finish secured the freshman a second team All-American honor.

NOTABLES
- Hanle, the only freshman in the 18 runner field, was in the top-10 at the first 200m but fell to 15th after the 600m mark.
- In the next 600m, Hanle decreased her times running her fastest lap on the 1400m leg of the race with a time of 37.70 and moved back into the top-10.
- The freshman reached as high as 9th but dropped back to 10th with 400m left.
- Hanle pushed in the final 200m registering her fastest time of 36.52 edging out the 11th place finisher by 8/10 of a second.
- Hanle's time sets a new PR for the freshman while also breaking her own school record.

- "It is an honor for me to be an All-American. It was a good race with a great PR (Personal Record). I'm glad I really brought it out on the track today and had a good last race in indoor."
