It was another good weekend for the University of Mount Olive Men and Women's Outdoor Track and Field teams as the Trojans concluded competition at the Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
In the Women's competition Char'De Washington set the school record in the Hammer throw with a toss of 40.33m. Chelsea Van Dijk moved into the second spot all-time in the 400m with a time of 58.37.
For the men Austin Steagall grabbed an NCAA Provisional Qualifing Mile run with a 4:10.42 time. The run was good enough to move Steagall to 2nd in the Trojan's record books. Petter Gustafsson set a school record and an NCAA Provisional Qualifing run at the 110m Hurdles 14.45. He also moved into 2nd place all-time in the 400m Hurdles 55.21. Angus Sinclair set a school record and obtained an NCAA Provisonal Qualifier spot in the Decathlon 6283 points. He also set the school record in the Pole Vault 3.80m.
In a bizare twist Charles Erwin set the school record in the Discus with a throw of 39.53m to be topped just 45 minutes later by Nick Greyno who hurled it 40.71m to take the newest school record.
Mount Olive will compete in the Raleigh Relays this weekend in Raleigh, N.C.
