Playing without two starters due to red cards in Saturday's match against Erskine, Mount Olive (2-13-0) kept the match scoreless through 24-plus minutes. Trojan goalkeeper Aleksandar Drobac made a save on a header in the 12th minute and UNC Pembroke keeper recorded a save on Hyago Matielo's shot in the 22nd minute.
UNC Pembroke (7-5-1) broke the deadlock in the 25th minute as Sam Miles assisted on the first goal of the match and scored two more goals over the next 14 minutes to give the Braves a 3-0 halftime lead. UNC Pembroke added a pair of goals less than three minutes apart beginning in the 68th minute. UNCP outshot Mount Olive 31-7.
Mount Olive plays its home finale and honors its two seniors Saturday as the Trojans play host to Lees-McRae for Senior Day in Conference Carolinas action. Seniors Tyler Vandevender and Josh Woodburn will be recognized prior to the contest. Match time is 4 p.m. at Amon Field.
