Mount Olive freshman Craig Allan was in the right place at the right time for his first collegiate goal. Allan re-directed a loose ball in front of the net five minutes into overtime, giving the Trojans their second consecutive Conference Carolinas win, 1-0, over Pfeiffer Thursday afternoon at Misenheimer, N.C. The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but had to be pushed back due to severe weather.

The goal provided Trojan goalkeeper Nick Bernsdorf with his first collegiate shutout.

After Bernsdorf and Pfeiffer's Zach Liles traded zeros for 90 minutes, the Trojans (2-4 overall, 2-1 CC) went on the offensive in the extra session. Mount Olive was outshot 21-12 in the contest, but three of the four attempts in overtime came from the Trojans.

After Pfeiffer let a corner kick opportunity go without success, the Trojans worked the ball to John Kwennah for a shot. Liles managed to save the shot, but the ball bounced in front of the goal for an open attempt by Allan.

Bernsdorf finished with six saves for the victory.

Mount Olive returns to action Saturday when Erskine comes to Amon Field for Parents' Weekend. The women's game will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the men at 7 p.m. Mount Olive defeated Erskine 3-2 last year at Due West, S.C.
