MYRTLE BEACH (April 23-25) – For the 12th year in a row the men's track and field team takes home five gold medals from eight different athletes to bring the 2026 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championship. This year the men took home the field athlete of the year because of discus thrower Antoine King. The Trojans also honor Earl Graves as Coach of the year for the fifth year running.
Antoine king continues to make waves for the Trojans in his respective events. At conference champs he took first place in the discus throw with a distance of 50.63 meters.
Teammate shot put thrower Sigursteinn Asgeirsson through a distance of 16.83 meters to contribute 10 points to the Trojans by claiming the first place spot on the podium. He also placed third in the discus with a toss of 43.63 meters.
Ryan Wilson McCoy took home gold in triple jump with a leap of 14.98 meters.
In the men's 4x400, Travelius Leach, Zachary Broadus, Zion Richardson-Keys, and Henry Bullock completed the relay in 3:16.04 to take home gold.
In the high jump, Kobe Jones leaped 1.97 meters to boost the Trojans another 10 points above the competition. Jones also competed in the long jump where he took second with a distance of 7.26 meters.
On Thursday action king also took a second in the hammer throw with a distance of 56.95 m to complete his weekend of competition.
In the final day of the championship the men's 4x100 took a second with the time of 40.92. Runners included Jacoby Pevia, Leland Smith, Jason Hart, and Richardson-Keys.
In the 1500 m Artem Meltsaiev placed second with a time of 3:57.64 to contribute eight points to the Trojans win.
Richardson keys also took third in the 110 m hurdle finals crossing the finish line at the 14.45 second mark.
In the 400 m finals leach added six points to the chargers final score with the time of 48.15 seconds.
Smith takes third with a time of 10.26 which now ranked number seven in D II.
Javariante Core finished second overall in the triple jump with a leap of 14.83 m ranking him 24th in the nation.
