Men’s Track & Field Qualifies Two for NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships

MOUNT OLIVEThe University of Mount Olive men's track & field team will send two student-athletes to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Emporia State University from May 21-23 at Francis G. Welch Stadium.

Antoine King earned his first-career national championship appearance in the discus after recording a provisional qualifying mark of 55.69 meters at the Trojan Relays on April 10. King enters the national championships ranked 11th nationally in NCAA Division II and is scheduled to compete in the men's discus on Friday, May 22 at 2:30 p.m.

Sprinter Leland Smith also secured his first national championship berth after posting a provisional qualifying time of 10.26 in the 100-meter dash at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championships on April 23. Smith will compete in the men's 100-meter preliminaries on Thursday, May 21 at 7:10 p.m.


The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 21-23 in Emporia, Kansas.
